7U Program

The 7U program is specifically developed to introduce soccer to children in a fun and safe environment, while allowing them to continue to expand their skills. The program is setup to have a short practice once a week at a local park or school, followed by a Saturday game. There is no post season at this age level; however, each player receives a participation trophy at the end of the season.

Item	Description
Season Length	The season runs from September until the middle of November.
Time Commitment	One weekly 60-minute practice, followed by a Saturday game lasting approximately 55 minutes.
Equipment	Each player will be given a uniform which consists of a jersey, shorts, and socks. * Players must provide soccer cleats, shin guards, and a Size 3 soccer ball.
Volunteer Requirements	All volunteers must be registered AYSO Volunteers. All coaches must also be Safe Haven certified, which includes Safe Sport, Live Scan fingerprinting, Concussion Awareness, and Cardiac Arrest Awareness. * AYSO provides all training.
Coach Certification	8U Coach
Game Format	The game is played on a small field in a 5 v 5 format with no goal keeper. Two 25-minute games are played simultaneously with substitutions occurring every five minutes. At the end of the first game there is a short break, then the away team switches sides and another 25-minute game is played.
Team Formation	The teams are formed with the intent of allowing the children to play with their friends and other children from their school. There are normally 12 players per team. Please place special requests on the registration form - we try very hard to meet all requests.
