The 6U program is specifically developed to introduce soccer to children in a fun and safe environment. The program is setup to have a short practice once a week at a local park or school, followed by a Saturday game. There is no post season at this age level; however, each player receives a participation trophy at the end of the season.

Season Length | The season runs from September until the middle of November. |
Time Commitment | Practice approximately 45 minutes once a week, followed by a Saturday game lasting approximately 45 minutes. |
Equipment | Each player will be given a uniform which consists of a jersey, shorts and socks. The player must provide soccer cleats, shin-guards and a size 3 soccer ball. |
Certification Required | All volunteers must be registered AYSO Volunteers, and all coaches must be Safe Haven Certified. Coach - 6U Coach Cert, Safe Haven Cert. CDC Concussion Awareness Cert., and Cardiac Arrest Awareness |
Game Format | The game is played on a small field in a 3 vs. 3 format with no goal keeper. Two 20 minute games are played at the same time with substitutions occuring every five minutes. There is no half time break and the clock does not stop for substitution. At the end of the first game there is a short break, and then the away team switches sides and another 20 minute game is played. |
Team Formation | The teams are formed with the intent of allowing the children to play with their friends and other children from their school. There are normally 8 players on each team. Please place special requests on the registration form. We try very hard to meet all requests. |
